OpenAPI is a specification standard for RESTful APIs. Using a well-defined consistent standard provides advantages from both business and developer perspectives. OpenAPI enables improved governance and consistency from a product management view. Developers can quickly come to terms with a new API and understand it at a deep level. Possibly most interesting from a technical viewpoint is that it enables software tooling. This talk discusses what the standard is, where it came from, and looks at it from a Claris FileMaker point of view. Whether you’re writing or consuming an API, this talk should be of interest.
